The September Issue

that terrible moment when they are out of Vogue at the grocer and you have to get InStyle to hold you over for a few days….

“September is the January of fashion.”

As September is just around the corner and the september issues of the fashion powerhouses just were released, It was so ironic that I just stumbled upon the documentary, The September Issue, and oh my goodness I loved every second of it.
The September Issue is a 2009 American documentary film about the behind-the-scenes drama that follows editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her staff during the production of the September 2007 issue of American Vogue magazine.
It was surprisingly funny and allowed you to see how much work goes into each issue, but particularly The September Issue each month. The relationship between Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington is portrayed as almost the backbone of the company and continues to evolve and change as the world of fashion does.
If you’ve seen the Devil Wears Prada, you need to see this, as it shows you inside the real life world of the Editor of Vogue and makes you want to be her every minute of the film.

Once I finished that movie I found In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye (which you can watch instantly for free if you have Amazon Prime!) which was just another look at Vogue over the years. I’m seriously in love with watching all the things that go on behind those famous white doors at Vogue and seeing documentaries like these make me want to move to NYC STAT.

If you have a moment of free time this week, I HIGHLY recommend watching these movies!
